I learned how to use tree pruner

I am so proud of myself to learned how to use tree pruner.  In the boring weekend and I did some yard work.  However, I have no ideal how to use tree pruner even we got one in our shed.  Thus browse YouTube and got some ideal on how to deal with it.

Yes, I did it and trim off the limb of the tree though it still need some energy to make it work.  I am pretty sure he will be surprise when he come back.   Aw can’t wait for his return from his APAC trip.

Happy 4th of July

Happy 4th of July everyone.  I am proud to be an American to be here to enjoy live with the one I love.  The land of freedom for fellow citizen to perform wonders.

America the beautiful

O beautiful for spacious skies,
For amber waves of grain,
For purple mountain majesties
Above the fruited plain!
America! America! God shed His grace on thee,
And crown thy good with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea!

O beautiful for pilgrim feet,
Whose stern impassion’d stress
A thoroughfare for freedom beat
Across the wilderness!
America! America! God mend thine ev’ry flaw,
Confirm thy soul in self-control,
Thy liberty in law!

O beautiful for heroes proved In liberating strife,
Who more than self their country loved,
And mercy more than life!
America! America! May God thy gold refine
Till all success be nobleness,
And ev’ry gain divine!

O Beautiful for patriot dream
That sees beyond the years
Thine alabaster cities gleam,
Undimmed by human tears!
America! America! God shed His grace on thee,
And crown thy good with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea!

Corn potage soup

2014-07-04 14.11.592014-07-04 14.36.032014-06-07 17.14.23

We enjoy the corn potage @ Japan Curry House so much. Each time we dine in and we will definitely order this item. Just happened today when we were at grocery shopping and notice corns is on sales like 10 ears for $2. Oh my, I will feel sorry if I don’t pick them up. Thus look for recipe online and manage to make this yummy soup.

We really love this soup very much. I love to eat when the soup is hot with crouton in it. Where my love like it cold. Anyway, I leave off the garnish because didn’t feel like it. It was very easy to make. But just a little tired to remove the corn kernel from the ear though

Ingredients:
2 Tbsp. unsalted butter
½ medium onion, diced
2 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
2 c. frozen or fresh corn
1½ c. chicken stock
1½ c. milk
salt and pepper, to taste
green onion, for garnish -optional
crouton for crunch – optional

Directions:

1. Heat the butter in a pot or large saucepan over medium heat.
2. When the butter has melted, add the diced onion and stir to distribute the butter. Cook until the onions are translucent, then turn the heat to low.
3. Add the flour and stir to mix–it will look a bit like paste, which is okay!
4. Slowly add the chicken stock and stir while adding to prevent lumps.
5. After all of the stock has been added, turn the heat to medium high and bring to a boil.
6. Once the broth is boiling, add the frozen or fresh corn and turn the heat down to medium. Allow the corn to simmer for 10 minutes.
7. After 10 minutes have passed, remove the pot from heat and use a stick blender to purée the soup. You can also wait for the soup to cool a bit, then pour into a blender. Be careful of the heat though–if it’s too hot, some blender containers will crack or burst.
8. Once blended, return to low heat and add the milk. Allow the soup to heat thoroughly, ~5-10 minutes.
9. Add salt and pepper to taste.
10. Serve with green onion (the green tips only, sliced) on top.
Soup can be frozen for up to 6 months or kept in the fridge for up to a week

The hard work paid off

People enjoy weekend after a long week at work but me got to study and spent at least 20hrs to study to prep for to night exam though. Though I feel relief and great as they exam is over and I nailed it again. #hardwork #paidoff

The gift from Paco

I am speechless when I watch the World News announced Paco Rodriquez as the person of the week.  The fallen boxer has been brain dead for 2 days and his family agreed and remarkable decision to donate his organs to others.

The four women who do not know each is now share a same donor.  They meet the Paco family in the first time to says ‘Thank you’.

The 1st Anniversary as citizen of America

It was last year today at 11am.  I was in Heritage Hall attending the Oath ceremony to be a citizen of America.  Still remember that gorgeous morning and I woke up with very good mood.  Well after the years of work and it finally pay off and I can now proudly says that ‘Hello my fellow American’! It’s makes me feel so wonderful that can’t describe in words.

Of course, the most important person behind the scene for the success is the one and the only My Lovely Pinky.  With his lights guided me through the bumping road and always bring smile on my face.  He is my world.  Thank you for everything.  I love you!
